Carolyn Irene

My “Why”

Carolyn Irene was created from a legacy of love—one that began long before this digital journal ever had a name. It is rooted in the lives of two extraordinary women who continuously shape my faith, my courage, and the way I show up in the world.

My grandma, Carolyn, passed away 20 years ago, yet her presence has never faded. She is woven into the fabric of who I am. She was a woman of steady strength and quiet devotion—someone who worked hard without complaint, who opened her home wide, and who loved people deeply and unconditionally. There was always room at her table, always warmth in her presence, always a sense that you belonged. She taught me that love is an action, that generosity is a way of life, and that the simplest acts—showing up, listening, welcoming—can leave the deepest mark.

I carry her legacy forward every day by loving deeper, giving freely, and choosing to shine light wherever I go. In every act of kindness, in every moment of grace, I feel her with me—smiling, cheering me on, reminding me that love never ends and legacy never fades. What she planted continues to grow.

My beloved bonus mom, Susan Irene, entered my life as a gift only God could orchestrate. She ignited courage and redemption in me and showed me what it looks like to walk faithfully, even when the path requires bravery. She is the kind of woman who doesn’t just talk about faith—she lives it boldly and beautifully. Her love for the Lord radiates from every part of who she is. It’s in her wisdom. It’s in her compassion. It’s in the way she sees people—really sees them—and meets them with both grace and truth.

I look up to her not just for what she knows or how she leads, but for who she is at her core: a woman after God’s own heart. She inspires me to be authentic and vulnerable, to lead and serve with humility, and to love like Jesus—with intention, patience, and courage. Her life is a living testimony of faith in action.

These two women are the heart of Carolyn Irene. They continuously teach me the most meaningful and important things: showing up for others, extending grace, serving with a willing heart, forgiveness, and trusting God to guide each step. Their lives remind me that writing is not simply about sharing words—it is about serving people.

This blog is a collection of stories, reflections, lessons, and moments from my own journey of faith. Some posts may come from seasons of joy, others from seasons of growth, uncertainty, healing, or waiting. But my prayer is that every word points beyond me and back to the God who is present in all of it.

I pray that through my writing, you don’t just see my story—you see them. Their hearts. Their faith. Their generosity. Their ability to call upon the Lord to guide their steps. And their deep, abiding love for people. Through these words, I hope you feel welcomed, seen, loved, and encouraged through your own journey.
